Sara Kelly

Sara is a Textile Artist and Educator based in South-East London.

Her work explores craft, community, and storytelling, using colour, texture, and traditional techniques. She creates woven and quilted pieces that translate life experiences into tactile narratives.

Alongside her artistic practice, Sara runs workshops, exhibitions, and community projects that bring people together through making. She believes in craft as an accessible and meaningful way to connect, emphasising process over product. She also specialises in textile repair and conservation, preserving the history embedded in fabric and embraces visible mending as a radical act. Her work has been exhibited internationally, and she has collaborated with institutions, artists, and community groups on both public and private commissions.

Sara is also training as a birth doula, exploring ways to integrate textiles into birth work - from creating birthing cloths to developing craft-based support spaces. Through her work, she aims to celebrate the rich history of textiles while pushing its boundaries in new and unexpected ways.
