Over the past few months, we've all had to react to changes in personal circumstances and adapt to living in a distorted environment.

During the first lockdown, access to studios and facilities was limited, meaning our artists had to think outside the box (while staying in the box) and modify their practice in order to continue making work. The outcome has been an exploration of mediums - iPad drawings, hand-woven tapestries, 3D printed sculptures and DIY printmaking from the kitchen floor. This show is a marker of defiance to all those who rode the First Wave

Sara Kelly has been selected as a winning candidate to take part in a 1 month residency at the Thread Residency in Senegal, as part of the AER programme.

Thread is a residency programme and cultural centre that allows local and international artists to live and work in Sinthian, a rural village in Tambacounda, the southeastern region of Senegal. Thread, Senegal is a project of the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation.

Periplus Workshops

I was nominated to attend a 1 week intensive design workshop with Periplus, in Mani Peninsula, Greece. This fascinating Workshop entitled FORM, was based on material behaviour and fearless experimentation with the primal genesis of form. It was an intense design expedition engaged directly with the local environment from the materials used to experiment, to the food that was prepared and truly enjoyed. A week of original and powerful intersecting and interweaving of ideas and quests in order to generate an experimental open network of people who see no limits in human creativity.
